How much is in your bucket?

How do you shop for Christmas? Some people shop for every one on Christmas Eve. Some people use a list and yet others shop all year round and have a secret hiding place where they stash the gifts. In fact, sometimes that place is so secret that they might even forget where it is!

I shop for Christmas year round and usually find that even though I have bought everything I need, as the season rolls in, I get excited and buy more. My kids will tell you that I am a multi-gift-giving Mommy.

That's the way mission trips are for me. Some people start planning and getting ready once they have a mission trip and need to raise the money for a trip.

Not me. I work on missions all year. Honestly, not a day goes by that I don't sit at my computer and do something to further carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I write newsletters, I contact churches, I pay bills, I create budgets, I pray and I fast, but I do something everyday. Sometimes I do so much of "something" that I work 12-14 hours a day at it.

Why? Because I have a life mission from the Lord to carry His word to the most remote areas of the World. And much like Nehemiah, I have a passion for fulfilling the task that I have been assigned. Working on this stuff is not hard, it's easy. It is fulfilling.

This morning I was thinking about the movie "The Bucket List". The movie was about 2 characters diagnosed with cancer. They had a bucket list- things they wanted to do before they "kicked the bucket".

Have you given much thought to your bucket? When you leave this world what will remain in your bucket? Will it be full full of dreams and visions that you never fulfilled- ideas that you never shared? Or will you leave this life with an empty bucket because you had the energy, the vigor and enthusiasm to pursue the things in your heart?

It has been said that the richest place on our planet is our cemeteries, because thousands have died with unreleased potential still inside them.

I don't know about you, but I want to go to heaven having used up everything that God put into me to bring Him honor and Glory!
